An FIR was registered on Sunday against BSP MP Dhananjay Singh at city police station in Jaunpur for allegedly threatening a person, police said. "The case was lodged on complaint of Indra Bahadur Singh of Tarapur Colony under Section 506 (Criminal intimidation) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) at City Police station," Superintendent of Police, Happy Gupta said.

She said that in his complaint to police on May 29, Indra had alleged that Singh had threatened him with dire consequence at a marriage function. Prima facie inquiry confirmed the charge after which the FIR was registered, she said. The MP was not available for comments.
