CAB factions evade compromise
Rival groups in the Cricket Association of Bengal didn't comment on Subhash Chakraborty's statement for a compromise.

Kolkata: Rival factions in the Cricket Association of Bengal on Saturday shied away from making any public comment on state Sports Minister Subhas Chakraborty's statement that efforts were on to bring forth a compromise ahead of the July 30 elections.

Though CAB President Jagmohan Dalmiya was not available for comment, sources close to him said that such a proposal could be considered.

"If a proposal comes from such responsible quarters, then we have to consider it. Then it is upto us to say yes or no" the source said.

Another CAB official said, "If at all it is being discussed, then the parties are Dalmiya, Chakraborty and the Chief Minister (Buddhadev Bhattacharjee). It is only after they arrive at something concrete, Dalmiya will get back to us."

A source in the anti-Dalmiya camp said, "This is the minister's personal view. We have no comment to offer."

What's your reaction?
