Cabinet expansion in a week

BANGALORE:  Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda has promised to expand his Cabinet within a week and thereafter expects the administrative machinery to move forward in full swing and hasten developmental processes.Speaking after chairing an introductory meeting of secretaries and principal secretaries of various departments, the new CM said that President Pratibha Patil will be arriving on a three-day visit to the state, after which, he said, he would concentrate on cabinet expansion.Stating that challenges are bound to be present at all times, Gowda expressed confidence of overcoming them by taking everybody into confidence."After having served as legislator and MP for two terms, I believe I have the ability and courage to deal with any challenge," the new chief minister said. He added that he would be for at least three days in the state capital, reserve three days to tour the state and meet people and one day for his family and friends.He also assured to put to best use the opportunity he has received to serve the state. Gowda exhorted the bureaucracy to work hard.
