Call for Malayalam varsity

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Deseeya Malayala Vedi has demanded the government to establish a Malayalam University in the city. In a press release here, Malayala Vedi president Kazhakootam Najmudeen said a meeting will be organised in Thiruvananthapuram on November 1 raising the demand.  The region boasts of ancient traditions in the language, he said. The Deseeya Malayala Vedi remembered literary giants Edassery Govindan Nair and N V Krishna Warrier on their death anniversaries, the press release added.
