Centre's new education policy: Homework on SMS, parental access to teachers' attendance
The National Education Policy was last revamped in 1986.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party-led government is all set to revamp the National Education Policy and unveil a new education policy, government sources told CNN-IBN.

In this regard, Centre will hold consultations with IITs to fix goals in the fields of technology and mathematics, which will be lay foundation for the future curriculum as well.

Under this new policy, parents will be able to access the details of attendance of their ward's teachers. Also, they will get SMSes on their children's daily home work.

The National Education Policy was last revamped in 1986.
