Silverstone: Claire Williams admitted she had to pinch herself.

One year on from enduring a low point in a miserable season after taking the job as deputy principal in her father's Formula One racing team, Williams was at the center of a post-race party Sunday at the British Grand Prix.

Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas finished second, the best result of his career, to continue the Williams team's run of points at every race this year.

But as the Finn finished second, his team-mate Brazilian Felipe Massa was sitting on the sidelines after a spectacular crash on the opening lap wrecked his 200th Grand Prix.

It was 24-year-old Bottas' best result to date, but one of the saddest days for Massa.

For the Williams team it was confirmation of their return to form.

Claire Williams said: "I have to pinch myself. It's lovely to see this after some very difficult seasons. I'm so pleased ... Last race was 3rd, this time 2nd, so who knows what happens next?"

She added: "Bottas is just cool and calm in the car. It's a team effort, all the mechanics as well did a good job. We are now P4 in the championship, it's a great home grand prix for the team.

"For Felipe, it's been a hard weekend. We had a lovely celebration for his 200th grand prix last night. We were so hopeful he could have a great race and we are so disappointed for him."
