HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday expressed profound grief over the death of Dr PC Alexander, former governor of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Goa. He described late Alexander as one of the most distinguished and respected public servants of the post-Independence era apart from being an outstanding statesman, able administrator and an eminent writer. Stating that Alexander has the distinction of having held several high positions in public life both at the national and international levels spanning a period of over half a century, the chief minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family. Alexander was the former principal secretary to the then Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. He was also the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and member of the Rajya Sabha.
