THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The coordination committee meeting of the UDF Government and the Congress, held here on Wednesday, has decided to bring in a code of conduct for ministers and other leaders. The meet, which took a strong view of the crisis after crisis being thrust upon the Oommen Chandy Government, not only by the Opposition but also by forces from within, has decided that matters cannot be left in this fashion anymore. The introspective session also decided to impose curbs on UDF leaders in issuing statements.Another decision is not to allow the issue of filling the vacancy of T M Jacob in the Cabinet as an important one for the time being. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will hold the charge of the portfolio till a concrete arrangement has been evolved. The meet took note of the fact that the KC (Jacob) faction is keen to have a minister of its own, well before the Piravom Assembly bypoll, but decided not to get carried away by the demand. While Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Ministers Aryadan Mohammed and C N Balakrishnan represented the government, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, former presidents Thennala Balakrishna Pillai, C V Padmarajan and K Muraleedharan, UDF convener P P Thankachan and senior leader V M Sudheeran piloted the concerns of the leading party in the UDF.
