Madhya Pradesh students created history as Satna’s Satwat Jagwani topped the JEE advance exam while four students from Indore got a place in the top 10.

After Satwat, Indore’s Janak Agrawal has secured second place while Mukesh Parekh secured the third spot. Besides, adding another feather in Madhya Pradesh's cap, Mhow (Indore’s) Kriti Tiwari topped the chart in girl’s category and Shantanu Dubey from Indore emerged as topper in disabled category.

The topper Satwat Jagwani’s parents Manoj and Bhumika are doctors and wanted him to pursue medical profession. However, Satwat always aspired to be an engineer and wanted to get into IIT. Satwat is a master in mathematics and solving sums is a cakewalk for him. He even does not require any pen and paper for cracking huge sums. This is perhaps the reason Satwat earned laurels in his first attempt and secured first place among 17,000 students from across the country. He secured 469 out of 504 marks.

However, for Janak Agrawal who secured second All India Rank, success came due to focusing on time management. Janak used to take a break of 15 minutes after every hour of study. Parents mostly complain that TV and mobile phone hinder studies but Janak used them to counter stress. He never considered studies a burden. He not only studied in daytime but focused excessively on preparations in the night.

Mukesh Pareekh also countered stress successfully while he prepared for JEE. Though he studied excessively but he never allowed stress to overtake his mental composure. He never allowed the feeling that ‘he was required to cram all the fundamentals or he was required to crack all the sums’ feeling. His parents also never pressurised him for anything. His businessman father and homemaker mother is on cloud nine after their son’s success.

Very much like Jnaka and Mukesh, Shantanu also found ways to counter stress and focus on studies. Like an average student, Shantanu also loves movies but for the sake of studies, he distanced himself from leisure activities and did not see a single movie in the last couple of years. He also avoided outings with the family and preferred studies instead. He, however, played with friends to bust stress. His father Sanjay Dubey a government officer always encouraged Shantanu.

The story of Kriti Tiwari who topped the chart in girl’s category is equally inspiring. The girl, a native of Mhow, used to visit Indore while traveling 35 km daily for two years. “It was quite challenging to travel daily to Indore and at times I felt like quitting but I kept my struggle on for fulfilling my dream to get into IIT,” Kriti said.

Having cleared the test in first attempt, Kriti has secured All India Rank of 47 and says that she expected a good rank but never imagined that she would be the topper in girl’s category.
