BANGALORE: Leader of Opposition in Assembly Siddaramaiah reiterated his demand to the state government to convene a session of the state Legislature to debate various pressing issues.Addressing party workers after participating in the distribution of foodgrain bags to poor Muslim families at Padmanabhanagar here on Tuesday, he said the state ought to discuss the issues of Lokayukta report on illegal mining. “There are several other issues such as the failure of the state government to release grants for the destitutes, elderly and widows, that need emergent discussion,” he added. He said the government has failed to fulfil its tall promise of providing shelter to those who were displaced in the 2009 floods, who continue to remain in pitiable conditions, while defending his demand for the special session.
