KANNUR: Kerala Congress leader and Government Chief Whip P C George has alleged that the brutal murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T P Chandrasekharan was a planned murder carried out with the involvement of the top leadership of the CPM. Addressing mediapersons here on Wednesday, P C George said that Selvaraj, who resigned from the CPM too would have met with the same fate if he hadn’t joined the UDF. He said that the family of T P Chandrasekharan was satisfied with the progress of investigation into the murder and that he had nothing to say about the way the investigation was being conducted by the officials. P C George, who listed the top leaders of the CPM as the culprits involved in the murder, said that the conspiracy behind the murder should be investigated. He said that the CPI, who had already expressed a divergent view on the incident should clarify its clear stand as regards the murder and the involvement of the CPM in it. Replying to a question, P C George said that he had visited Thalassery on February 19 to attend the marriage of the daughter of a former colleague of his party and that the allegation raised by CPM district secretary P Jayarajan linking his visit to a ‘conspiracy’ wasn’t based on facts. The Government Chief Whip called upon the Politburo of the CPM to remove P Jayarajan from the party posts in view of his ‘criminal links’. In a statement distributed to mediapersons, P C George questioned the claim of the CPM leaders that they had no role in the murder of T P Chandrasekharan.
