A senior Uttar Pradesh police officer allegedly ordered his force to detain six children after he was hit by a cricket ball.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) BR Meena, posted at Police Training School (PIS) in Moradabad, became furious after the ball hit him on Friday and ordered the policemen to detain the children.
The children were taken to the police station and detained for nearly six hours.
The children were later released after their mothers rushed to the police station and reportedly raised voice against the high-handedness of the local police.
No charges have been framed against the children.
