SA nationals attacked in Allahabad

17 Bajrang Dal activists attacked 2 South African nationals for allegedly carrying beef while on their way to Nagpur airport. It was later discovered that they were actually carrying chicken and pork. A spokesperson for the South African Government condemned the act and said that this was not the first time this had happened.

In earlier incidents, South African nationals have been attacked by Hindus for carrying beef, Muslims for carrying pork and the Goans and Parsees for carrying vegetables. From now on, South Africans have been advised that they should avoid carrying any food items and that it is safer to carry only drugs

India's World Cup Squad announced

Niranjan Shah, the Indian cricket board’s secretary, said national selectors have finally chosen the 15-man squad for the Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean. A difficult task with the selectors not being completely happy with Dravid, and Sehwag yet to hit peak form. But finally they have put together an Indian squad that would help India bring the world cup home.

Kalam meets Khushwant

Giving protocol a skip once again, President A P J Abdul Kalam visited eminent writer Khushwant Singh at his residence. Apparently President Kalam has read all of Khushwant Singh's books and wanted to meet him personally to ascertain whether Singh should join the President's Space Programme and whether it was now time to send 93-year-old Khuswant Singh into space.
