COIMBATORE: A college student, from a scheduled community, who completed her studies in a city college waited for nearly a year after completing her studies to avail the government’s scholarship. G Karunya, who took an UG course in a city college, applied continuously for three years through the college principal to get a scholarship from the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department. However, she was not given the scholarship even though she completed her studies last March. She approached the Coimbatore District Legal Services Authority which helped her to get a cheque for Rs 7,640 from the college.
