New Delhi: A 28-year-old man had a narrow escape on Monday when he lost balance and slipped on to the tracks in front of an approaching train at West Delhi's Ashoka Park metro station.

The victim, identified as Sunil, however, managed to jump across to the other tracks in time. "He suffered minor injuries to his head and legs due to the fall. He was standing too close to the edge of the platform when the incident took place at around 4 pm. He was rushed to a local hospital where his condition is said to be out of danger," said a police official.

Metro trains were stopped for a few minutes after the incident occurred. Sunil was accompanied by his father when the incident took place. The duo had come to Delhi from Karnal on a personal visit.
