Director Sports Shailesh Kumar Singh suspended on charges of dereliction of duty

Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday  suspended Director Sports Shailesh Kumar Singh on charges of dereliction of duty.

"The officer was creating hurdle in development activities for sports.

"He held estimate file of swimming pool to be constructed in Saifai (Etawah). Later he sent file but did mention reasons for delay", an official release here said.

Besides, after government sanctioned file, Singh unnecessarily delayed releasing money for the same, it said.

The officer also did gave proposal of Rs five crore for development of sports activities for year 2013-14, it said, adding that the officer has been suspended with the immediate effect.
