New Delhi: In the wake of the violent clashes at Delhi University's Ramjas College, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday told reporters that the Center doesn't support or endorse any violent group or activity.

The political slugfest became even more violent the next day when members of the ABVP allegedly disrupted a protest march organized by students of the JNU and Left-leaning AISA.

"Having a different opinion apart from majority opinion is agreeable, but not disintegration. Nobody can advocate disintegration... The Congress and Left, who supported Emergency, are criticising us now. There are 7,000 institutions across the country and peace reigns everywhere... Freedom of speech is important, but it shouldn’t be used to advocate separatist policy," he added.
The Union minister said certain misguided sections were trying to mislead the youth. He said: "Frustrated people are misleading youngsters. Some elements are misleading the young population of India. You want to make universities as labs for separatist experiments?"
