MALKANGIRI: The District and Sessions Court will soon start functioning here. Justice B N Mahapatra of the Orissa High Court assured a delegation of the District Bar Association which met him at Cuttack recently. Bar secretary Lambodar Turuk said the court would start functioning in a month if necessary infrastructure is provided by the district administration. The Collector has been requested to provide rooms in the district headquarters town, he added. The Jeypore District and Sessions Court Judge will be in Malkangiri on Wednesday to look into the feasibility and availability of infrastructure, Turuk said.The delegation had apprised the authorities concerned of problems being faced by litigants who have to travel to Jeypore for filing fresh appeals in the district court and family court there. The Bar members have threatened a sit-on dharna if the court is not set up in a month.
