CHENNAI: Former DMK minister Thangam Thennarasu has moved the Madras High Court challenging a GO dated June 22 this year, which constituted a one-man commission headed by Justice S Thangaraj to probe the irregularities in the construction of new Secretariat and Assembly buildings in Omandoorar Government Estate.DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan had filed a similar petition, last week. A division bench comprising Justice D Murugesan and Justice KK Sasidharan, before which the public interest writ petition came up for hearing on Friday, posted the matter along with Anbazhagan’s petition for hearing on August 17.In his petition, Thennarasu contended that the GO was politically motivated and it was issued to take vengeance against DMK chief M Karunanidhi.Among other things, Thennarasu alleged that the present CM had a consistent record of reversing all the policies of the previous government at one stroke.
