Understanding of god
I see god in beings which are pure and innocent, say for example children and animals. Showing compassion and kindness to all beings brings me closer to god. I believe that the supreme power above us will definitely answer our prayers and tough questions if we are patient, honest and selfless. I never ask him for favours, because he knows what I deserve and is the best for me. I’m thankful for what he has given me. I firmly agree with the saying ‘You do your best, and god will do the rest!’
Spiritual beliefs
It’s been more than a year since I had been to a temple, but I’m connected with him with every good deed. I will reap what I sow. A few minutes of sincere prayer anywhere is more than enough as it certainly brings internal peace and helps me understand who I am. I don’t have to visit temples regularly.
Spiritual practices
I always make sure that I say a prayer at least a minute before I leave home. I strongly believe that hurting others with unkind words or behaviour will push us away from god. My spiritual practices also include offering help to the needy and speaking up for the voiceless. It just gives an immense feeling of satisfaction and helps me realise the purpose that I am here for.
Pilgrimage sites
I have been to Haridwar at Uttarakhand, Sai Baba Temple at Shirdi, Maharashtra and a few times to the Venkateswara temple in Tirumala. I would like to visit the Murugan Temple at Batu Caves, Malaysia and the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter at the Vatican City, Italy.
Miracles
Miracles do happen to those who work hard, have faith in him and are patient. But we can’t expect miracles to happen every time. I have learned to accept things the way they are and to be happy with what he has given me. I believe that I can definitely bring miracles in the lives of hundreds of animals through my activism, and he has stood with me through out all these nine years of my work.
