London: The England team supporters have bagged some unusual singers to lend voices to their 2006 FIFA World Cup song.
If the Barmy army with their hoarse voices were not enough, now there’s a Barmy sheep army and quite unbelievable though it may sound, they have also released their own version of 'Land of Hope and Glory'.
The song and the accompanying video features a look-alike of renowned referee Pierluigi Collina, struggling to control a game between herds of sheep, who pursue a bouncing football across mountains and over narrow town streets.
Local musician Charley Darbeyshire recorded the sheep baaing in the fields of the Lake District, England and the free single along with the video is now available on the Cumbria Tourist Board website www.golakes.co.uk/worldcupsheep.
A spokesman for Cumbria Tourist Board, said: "Every England football fan has heard of three lions. Well this is three lambs!
"We hope this sheep single and video puts a much-needed smile on the face of football fans and the England team," Fox News quoted him as saying.
The release of the single and video by the Baarmy Sheep follows a lukewarm reception to the official England World Cup single by Embrace.
Rival versions have already been launched by the likes of Sham 69, Tony Christie and the Crazy Frog.
