Entrepreneurship camps from January 25

VELLORE: The district administration is organising a series of awareness-cum-motivational camps on employment generation opportunities for unemployed youth under the Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP) in all the 20 blocks beginning January 25.According to district collector Ajay Yadav,  subsidy linked bank loans of Rs 60 lakh have been earmarked to enable 433 eligible youths in the district to set up businesses. Candidates who have passed their eighth standard and are interested in entrepreneurship can apply for the loan. The loan package would include a 15 per cent subsidy for loans ranging from Rs 1 lakh to establish a small business to Rs 3 lakh for service-based business and Rs 5 lakh to set up a production based business.The camps will be held at BDO offices across the district. The first camp will be held at 10 am at the BDO office in Vellore on January 25 with the afternoon session being held in Katpadi at 3 pm. On January 27-Arakonam (morning), Sholinghur (afternoon), February 1-Tirupattur and Joalrpet, Feb 3-Anaicut, Kaniyambadi, Feb 8-Natrampalli, Kandili, Feb 10-Kaveripakkam, Nemili, Feb 15-pernambut, Gudiyattam, Feb 17-Wallajah, Arcot, Feb 22-Alangayam, Madanur and Feb 24-K V Kupam, Timiri.
