Ex- MLAs custody extended

CHENNAI: A court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of former DMK MLA of Villivakkam B Ranganathan and his aide, arrested on August 2 on land grabbing charges, by 15 days. Ranganathan and his associate T V Venkatesan alias Gowrishanker were arrested after the Nolambur Annamalai Avenue Plot Owners Association lodged a plaint on August 1, alleging that they had grabbed their 20.59 acres worth `150 crore through forged papers. Meanwhile, the CoP directed that they be booked under the Goondas Act.  On Tuesday, they were produced before an Ambattur court, which extended their custody.
