ALUVA: Superintendent of Police (Excise Vigilance) T K Haridas on Monday collected evidence from several persons in connection with the seizure of 8,500 litres of spirit from Thottakattukara near here the other day. The Excise Intelligence wing had unearthed 281 containers of spirit from the hideout of a non-functioning workshop on the National Highway at Thottakkattukara. The spirit was also seized from three vehicles which were parked in the compound of the workshop.Surumi, a model, who was staying in a nearby lodge was nabbed in this connection. Excise personnel got a clear evidence of the accused from her mobile phone. However, the accused are still absconding. Excise Vigilance SP Haridas questioned the workshop owner, neighbours and the employees of the lodge from where the model was arrested. The investigation will be extended to other states.
