HYDERABAD: The file recommending to the Centre to accord permission to the CBI to prosecute IAS officers accused in cases has reached the table of the chief secretary more than three months after the request was made to the state government by the investigation agency.According to sources, the chief secretary is expected to examine the file and send it to the chief minister for taking a final decision. The law department, while forwarding the file to the chief secretary, stated the rule position and suggested that the competent authority alone should take a decision on it.According to a senior bureaucrat, the chief minister may send the file to the Centre if he is satisfied with the case or send it back for clarifications.Of the three officers named as accused in the cases being investigated by the CBI, Y Srilakshmi and BP Acharya are in jail. The third, LV Subrahmanyam, is TTD EO.
