Kolkata: Bengali film Flop-e, on a corporate honcho wanting to taste failure, starring Paoli Dam and Sabyasachi Chakraborty, will be the first to have a London premiere next month during the Durga Puja celebrations.
"The storyline of the film is very unique and unusual. It's about how a corporate hotshot who has never tasted failure in life wants to invest in a business that is going to flop," said director Pritam Sarkar who is excited about his debut film's international premiere.
Showing the concept of a film within a film, the businessman in the Flop-e wants to make an unsuccessful movie to taste failure in life.
Although the film will be released in November, the premiere will be held on October 2 at the Harrow Arts Centre in London, producer Dinanath Ghosh said.
In the last few years, the business of Bengali movies has been increasing in the overseas market due to the presence of a large Indian diaspora. A plethora of new Bengali films are now eyeing simultaneous releases in the UK and US markets.
