MADURAI: In a bizarre accident, a four-year-old girl died after she got stuck in a damaged window at an anganwadi centre here on Tuesday.According to police, Vaitheeswari had put her head through a damaged window inside the anganwadi in Irumbadi village in Sholavandhan block.Sundarammal, supervisor of the anganwadi, who had been managing around 25 children, had taken them out during the recess, while a few kids stayed inside. The victim, who was inside the centre, was waving her hands at her friends, who were outside, through a window which had a rod missing in between. She had used a small chair and climbed upto the window to have a better view of her friends. The girl then thrust her head into the gap and could not take it out. In the process, she kicked the chair and it also moved away. The girl fainted before help could come in.The anganwadi staff with the help of villagers removed the kid from the window and rushed her to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.Satheesh Kumar, the victims father, lodged a complaint with the police.
