THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Fireworks Licensees and Employees Association has said that the government is ignoring the firework industry, which has a good market in the state.Unnecessary laws were hampering the industry. Business worth Rs 1,000 crore happen in the state every year. Of these, more than Rs 700 crore worth fireworks came from Shivakasi.While the Tamil Nadu Govt diluted the stringent law for the development of the industry, the State Govt was ignoring it, KFLEA state president G Subodhanan and general secretary Puliyoor G Prakash told a press meet here on Saturday. They sought amendments to the Explosive Substances Act of 1908.
