The Jharkhand government would soon take a decision on giving post-retirement benefits to Anganwadi sevikas.
We will look into the post-retirement benefits being given by other states to Anganwadi sevikas before deciding to implement it in Jharkhand, Social Welfare, Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi told the state assembly said on Wednesday.
Her assurance came following a demand raised during call attention motion by JMM MLA Deepak Birua demanding sevikas be given the benefits on the line of Kerala, Goa and some other states. To another demand raised by BJP MLA Amit Yadav, Finance Minister Rajendra Prasad Singh said the government would suitably increase the current compensation amount given in the event of elephants damaging houses.
Singh also assured Congress MLA Bana Gupta s demand for clearance of no objection certificates (NOC) to carry out developmental works in East Singbhum district, saying the deputy commissioner would be asked to ensure clearance of NOCs within a fortnight.
