HYDERABAD: The AP Public Service Commission filed a counter before the AP Administrative Tribunal here on Thursday to a petition filed by some candidates who failed to qualify for Group-I interviews.A group of candidates had filed a petition demanding cancellation of the Group-I Main examination alleging that many Telugu-medium candidates did not qualify in the written test on account of the translation blunders committed by the commission in all the five question papers.The tribunal asked the APPSC to file a counter before January 20.Admitting to mistakes in translating the questions, the APPSC said it evaluated the answers taking the errors into view and awarded marks to candidates of English and Telugu media as per the existing guidelines and rendered equal justice to all the candidates.It, however, refused to disclose the cut-off marks and the marks obtained by each candidates as the process of selection was on.It also refused to provide details of the teams which set the question paper and conducted valuation but asserted that they had done everything according to the guidelines.The matter will come up before the tribunal bench on Friday for further hearing.
