A normalistaion in ties between India, Pak seems a long way ahead now.

New Delhi: India has decided not to hold any dialogue with Pakistan till the issue of terrorism is resolved, sources told CNN-IBN. This latest development indicates that a normalistaion in ties between India and Pakistan is a long way ahead.

Sources told CNN-IBN that the UPA government's Pakistan policy will now be terrorism-centric.

Foreign secretary Shiv Shankar Menon on Wednesday summoned Pakistan High Commissioner Shahid Malik and conveyed India’s disappointment at the release of Mumbai attack mastermind and Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed.

This comes even as sources told CNN-IBN that the Pakistan government will not appeal for Saeed's release.

The Pakistani envoy had sought a meeting with Menon a day after Saeed was released by Lahore High Court, a move that elicited angry reactions from India.

Malik told Menon about the actions taken by the Pakistan government against the suspected perpetrators of the November 26 Mumbai carnage that killed over 170 people.

The Pakistani envoy also requested that some portions of court-certified evidence India had provided in its dossier on the Mumbai attacks be translated into English and handed over to Islamabad.

India agreed to the request as it had given Pakistan documents which were in Marathi language.

Saeed had been under house arrest since December 11, 2008 for his suspected involvement in the Mumbai attacks.

The Islamist ideologue who often preaches hatred against India in his fiery Friday sermons at the JuD headquarters in Muridke near Lahore, had been detained nearly six months ago after the United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist group.
