Harrisons asked to file affidavit

The Kerala High Court on Thursday asked the plantation company Harrisons Malayalam Ltd to file an affidavit explaining the merger of estates under it as one estate. The Harrisons argued that the extent of estates shown in earlier documents are less, subsequently the other estates covered by the same documents were merged with one of the estates and instead of naming as several estates, all the properties are known as one estate. The merger was done for convenience, it said.  The state submitted that the extent of the estates shown in documents of the title claimed by the company differs from the extent shown in the statement filed.
