THIRUVAIRANIKULAM: The 12-day Nadathurappu festival of Sree Parvathi Devi at Thiruvairanikulam Sree Mahadeva Temple has completed nine days with thousands of devotees pouring in to the temple each day.There was an uanprecedented crowd during the weekend and the rush did not ease a bit even on Monday. Huge crowds throng the temple as the Sreekovil of Parvathy Devi is opened only once in a year for the 12-day festival. There were huge crowds at the temple on Saturday and Sunday. The KSRTC operated special services from different depots to the temple. A strong police contingent was deployed in the area. A well-equipped medical unit was on the standby round-the-clock. Fire and Rescue Services personnel were positioned in the festival area.KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, BJP former state president P Krishnadas, musician Madhu Balakrishnan and former Sabarimala melsanthi Arthrassery Raman Naboodiripad visited the temple on Monday. Thousands of sarees, offered to the Devi by the devotees seeking prosperous married life, were auctioned on Monday. A large number of devotees participated in the auction. The auction will continue in the coming days.
