THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major haul, the intelligence cell of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized one kilogram of heroin, valued at Rs one crore in the international market, at Ulloor here on Wednesday. Three persons, including two Maldivian nationals - Abdullah and Fayaz Hussain - and a local resident, Abdul Kabeer, were arrested in connection with the incident. The three were nabbed while they were engaged in some discussion near a hotel. The seizure was based on a tip-off received by the NCB sleuths. Those who have been booked had reportedly confessed that the consignment was for illicit export to a drug trafficker operating from Maldives and meant to be utilised in the tourist hubs of that country. However, the source of the stuff has not been revealed so far, it is learnt.
