PUDUCHERRY: He's never been to any institution of higher learning, yet Chief Minister N Rangasamy has put trust in him to formulate policy for higher education.
Meet PML Kalyanasundaram (33), the new Minister for Collegiate and School Education in Puducherry.His education qualification, according to his election affidavit, is SSLC. The first time minister has also been given the weighty portfolios of Transport, Information Technology and Art and Culture, earlier held by M O H F Shajahan, whom he defeated in the from Kalapet constituency.

Besides, he also holds Sports and Youth affairs and Government Automobile workshop. M Chandrakasu (57), from Nedungadu (SC), Karaikal, who has become Minister for the third time, is the Agriculture Minister. He has also been given Industries and Commerce, Animal Husbandry, Economics and Statistics, Stationary and Printing and Ports.

Except Tourism, all other portfolios were held in the previous ministry by M Kandasamy, whom he defeated to win Embalam (SC) seat in the Assembly elections.

As expected, the Chief Minister has retained plum portfolios including Home, Health, Revenue and Excise, Public Works, Planning and Finance and Electricity. VMC Sivakumar from Karaikal has been appointed as Chairman of Puducherry Distilleries Limited.
