New Delhi:Music composer, singer and actor Himmesh Reshammiya visited the Ajmer Dargah on Tuesday night to offer prayers days before the release of his film Aap Ka Suroor.
Reshammiya was dressed in a burqa and made a back door entry to the holy tomb of Khawja Moinuddhin Chishti.
The singer who arrived along with four others, took to a burqa after some fans allegedly misbehaved with him.
There was resentment and objection by some people when they found out that he had entered wearing a burqa.
The music director has reportedly apologised to the Anjuman Committee of the Dargah for wearing a burqa stating that he never intended to hurt anyone's religious sentiments.
The official committee of the Dargah gave a clean chit to Reshammiya saying he had not committed any offence by offering prayers in the burqa.
"Burqa is a respectable dress and there was no need for the singer to express his regret and tender apology," a Khadim told PTI.
"If I have committed any mistake, I apologise for that," he told reporters after paying obeisance at the Dargah.
