HMR to adopt three heritage structures

The Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd  will adopt three important heritage structures _ Paigah Tombs, MJ Market and State Archaeological Museum _ for their restoration and supplement government’s efforts to promote Hyderabad as an important heritage tourist destination.

This was announced by special chief secretary (tourism & culture) Chandana Khan and HMR managing director NVS Reddy at the prize distribution ceremony of Hyderabad Heritage Marathon Run here on Sunday.

Assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar, who distributed prizes to the winners of Run, said Hyderabad had immense potential to be an important heritage tourist destination and government organisations and corporates should work together to enhance and promote the brand image of Hyderabad as a heritage city.

Complimenting HMR for adopting the three important heritage structures, he advised it to engage good conservation architects for the restoration work.
