New Delhi: HTC, which had launched its last flagship smartphone in March last year, seems to be all set to unveil the next flagship. The company has sent out media invites for its March 1 event, scheduled a day before this year's Mobile World Congress kicks off.
The cryptic invite states "utopia in progress" which does not hint at what the company has up its sleeve for the event, but if speculations are to be believed the company is likely to unveil the successor to the HTC One (M8).
Rumours are doing the rounds that the next flagship from HTC, codenamed Hima, is expected to come with a 5-inch 1080p display, octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC with 3GB of RAM, and a 20.7MP rear camera, a 13 megapixel front camera, and a 2840mAh battery.
The new high-end phone from HTC could be named HTC One (M9).
Taiwan's HTC has seen its fortunes collapse in recent years. While HTC's flagship One M8 consistently garnered accolades from critics but it failed to lure customers.
