Hyderabad: Three suspected swine flu patients were on Wednesday isolated in the Government Chest Hospital at Erragadda here, an official said.

University in US, who arrived at the Shamshabad International
Airport here from New York on Wednesday morning, was admitted to the hospital on suspected swine flu symptoms while two others who had recently toured the United States turned up voluntarily to the hospital, Dr K Subhakar, Professor of TB and Chest Diseases, Government Chest Hospital told reporters.
“The engineering student was referred to us by airport authorities, while the two other persons who had recently travelled some cities in US and came back to the city last night and voluntarily turned to the hospital after they developed some symptons of swine flu," the doctor said.
The samples of all the three persons were collected and sent to National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) for confirmation, the doctor said.
“All the three samples have been sent to NICD and we are awaiting the results," he added.
NDMA issues necessary contingency plans
The National Disaster Management Authority has issued necessary contingency plans to all those concerned, in case WHO raises the threat level of swine flu internationally.
As a result of WHO's decision to raise the situation to level V, the National Crisis Management Committee had held a meeting with the NDMA and issued instructions to all concerned regarding necessary preventive actions to be taken.
A number of medical teams have been detailed to man the entry points of international airports, land entry routes and sea ports.
So far 46 persons have been tested and found negative for swine flu. Samples of three more are being tested, a senior health ministry official said.
