A Hyderabad-bound IndiGo flight from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh was diverted to Nagpur on Sunday (September 1) on receiving a bomb threat. Security agencies, however, did not find anything suspicious after a thorough check and the flight is expected to resume its journey at 2 pm, officials said.
In a statement, IndiGo said its flight 6E-7308, scheduled from Jabalpur to Hyderabad, got diverted to Nagpur International Airport due to a bomb threat message on board the aircraft. All the passengers underwent mandatory security checks after the aircraft made a landing, the airline said.
“Upon landing, all passengers were disembarked and mandatory security checks were promptly initiated. Passengers were provided with assistance and refreshments, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused,” said IndiGo.
A police official said the bomb threat message was written on a piece of paper, which was found in the bathroom of the aircraft. But, nothing suspicious was found after a thorough check was initiated on landing.
