In a hit-and-run case in Meerut on Thursday, a man was injured after the driver in a Honda City car went on a rampage.

According to the statement of police officials, a white Honda City car with a blue beacon which allegedly belongs to a senior IAS officer, hit a bike injuring the rider, following which the car hit an Alto car parked on the road.

In his statement to the police, the injured biker claimed that the people in the car including the driver were drunk. However it is still not known whether the IAS officer was present in the car when the accident occurred as people inside the car fled after the incident.

It is also learnt that since people in the Alto were having booze in the car, they didn't file a complaint.

Even as the police is probing the case, the complainant claimed that he is being pressured by the police to 'do something' and settle the case.

What's your reaction?
