Panaji: The forthcoming International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2011 in Goa will have country focus on the films made in the United States.
Having America as a country focus is one of the initiatives taken to make the festival appealing globally, IFFI Director Shankar Mohan told reporters on Saturday.
Besides, the IFFI 2011 will also have a Classic section on Russian films.
Mohan said that 'The Mirror' by Andrei Tarkovsky, 'Uncle Vanya' by Andrei Mikhalov-Kochalovsky showcasing rich cultural heritage of Russia's cinematic history would be packaged in a special section.
The festival which will be held from November 23 to December 3 in Goa has also increased its award money from this year for the competition section which will be worth Rs 1 Crore, he said.
