VILLUPURAM: Following allegations that Puducherry Education Minister PML Kalyanasundaram used a proxy to write Class X examinations for him, an inquiry report in this regard was sent to the Directorate of Government Exams on Sunday. The report was prepared by the Tindivanam District Education Officer, who had launched a probe into the matter. On September 29, Kalyanasundaram allegedly used a proxy for the Social Science exam, which was subsequently held on the following day after the matter came to light. The exam was conducted at the Tagore Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Jayapuram. When contacted, the Villupuram Chief Education Officer said, “Based on complaints from the public, we held a thorough enquiry as per the procedures of our department. This would not have been the case if any malpractice was found by the exam hall invigilator when the exam was in progress.”As per procedures, if the director of exams results feels it is necessary, the Minister could be called to his office for an inquiry. The director could also recommend a scrutiny of the answer paper and cross examination of the invigilator. If found guilty, the Minister could be barred from appearing for exams for the next three years.Tagore Matriculation HSS vice-chairman Dinakaran told Express, “Of the 400 candidates who appeared for the exam on that day, over a 100 were from Puducherry. Our school principal Rajalakshmi told me that the photograph on the Minister’s hall ticket matched that of the candidate and hence he was allowed to write the exam.”Sack minister, demands AIADMKAIADMK Puducherry unit secretary Anbazhagan on Sunday urged Chief Minister N Rangasamy to remove P M L Kalyanasundaram from his cabinet following claims that the Minister used a proxy to appear for the recently held Class X exams.
