Srinagar: Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of both India and Pakistan met on Tuesday and discussed the repeated ceasefire violations along the International Border.
It was decided that regular flag meetings will be held between field commanders to defuse the situation.
Meanwhile, back home, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley will be meeting the three service chiefs after repeated ceasefire violations by the Pakistani Army.
The Valley has reported 90 infiltration attempts in the last one year, which implies that a ceasefire violation is reported almost every day.
Director General of the Border Security Force D K Pathak visited forward posts along the LoC today which has been under constant fire from the Pakistani side. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh too will visit the LoC by the end of August, say sources.
Close to 7000 locals have been forced to leave their homes. There have been over 23 violations by Pakistan in August alone.
