Indians reported missing in Iraq
An External Affairs Ministry Spokesman said he had no official confirmation of reports that claimed that five Indians have been kidnapped.

New Delhi: The Government is verifying reports that five Indians working for a private company in Iraq have been kidnapped, according to Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed.

"We have no official informtion about media reports in this regard. We don't know whether there is any truth in the reports," he said

An External Affairs Ministry Spokesman also said he had no official confirmation of the reports. The Indian Embassy in Baghdad has been asked to verify the reports.

Some television channels reported that five Indians working for private company in Iraq have been abducted. Of them, three are said to be from Kerala and two from Punjab.

The Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry is also verifying the media reports.
