London: People in the UK may now be able to bid adieu to their ageing signs, including sun spots, blemishes, unsightly veins and scars, for a new cosmetic procedure just introduced there, can now help rejuvenate the face in just seven minutes.
Although the treatment called Aesthera PPx, which combines a laser with vacuum suction to erase signs of ageing, was already in use in the USA, it in only now that it has reached markets in the UK.
Doctors have said that over a period of time, it can also help plump out and smooth the skin, helping the patient look years younger.
They further claim that the device is virtually pain-free, unlike conventional lasers and is five times faster than existing treatments.
A single 'coffee-break, face-lift' procedure to the face costs 350 pounds, but since on an average a person will need to undergo five sittings, the total cost will come down to 1450 pounds.
"Patient demand for fast and effective treatments for skin conditions and as men and women look for the new breed of lasers to provide pain-free treatment for a variety of skin problems," the Daily Mail quoted Mel Braham, chairman of the Harley Medical Group, as saying.
Some of the first few people who tried the treatment said that they were extremely happy and satisfied with the results.
"I didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't painful at all, just like soft vacuum suction on my face," one of the female patients in the UK said.
"My face is less red and the veins are gradually disappearing. I can't wait to have the full course and see the finished result. I wish they had invented it years ago," she added.
