BANGALORE: They are undertrial numbers 7801 and 7802. Once highly influential persons who resided in a posh bungalow at a plush locality Sadashivanagar, former minister Katta Subrahmanya Naidu and his corporator son Katta Jagadish have till date spent two nights at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.After entering the jail, officials allotted the badge numbers to them. They have been remanded to judicial custody by the Lokayukta Special Court on Monday in the multi-crore KIADB scam involving a bogus company ITASCA. The MD of ITASCA, Srinivas, (undertrial badge number 7803) is also accompanying the father-son duo in the jail.A tearful Katta, who is said to have planned to visit the Vaishno Devi Temple, did not have food on Monday night.Though the jail staff provided them ‘anna -sambar’, Katta senior had just water and slept, jail sources told Express.“He used the bedsheets and pillow provided with him. However, his son spent time chatting with his co-prisoners. A year ago, he was arrested and was jailed for 15 days, coincidentally, at the same jail.The former minister on Monday morning after having breakfast, read the newspapers to check the coverage of news concerning him. He is said to have cried after doing so. The former minister then requested the jail superintendent to provide him with home-cooked food, for which permission was granted. The Kattas had home-cooked food for lunch.In the meantime, relatives and followers of the father-son duo met them in jail and consoled them.Sources said that the jail doctors are checking the health conditions of the two persons.
