Jind (Haryana): The Prakash Singh committee set up by Haryana government to inquire about the role of officials during the Jat quota agitation visited the affected areas of Jind district on Monday and talked to the civil and police officials.
The committee visited Safidon, Pillukhera areas of the district and interacted with the officials and eye witnesses to seek information about the violence that erupted during the agitation.
Head of the Committee, Prakash Singh said they are investigating the role of government officials and workers in the damage caused to public and private property during the Jat agitation in the state.
"Eight districts have been visited and the damage caused there has been probed by the committee, a complete report of the damages caused during the agitation will be sent to Haryana government in April," Prakash Singh said.
"The report will also make a mention of role of officials and staff who failed to perform their duties during the agitation," he added.
Replying to a question, Singh said Sub-division and Tehsil offices suffered more damages as compared to district headquarters and the reason for these damages will be investigated and the report will be sent to the government soon.
Singh also appealed the media persons and common people to upload any video footage they have of the people who caused damage to public and private property during the Jat Agitation on the committee's website so that the culprits can be identified in the report.
