CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday inaugurated the much-awaited Rangarajapuram Flyover planned to reduce congestion in T Nagar and Kodambakkam areas. Besides the Rs 24-crore flyover, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 25 other public welfare projects that were completed by the Chennai Corporation at an estimated cost of Rs 8.36 crore via video conferencing from the Secretariat.The projects that were opened on Wednesday include a 24-hour maternity care centre at Jeenis Road, Saidapet, lush green parks at Abusali Street, Baskar Colony, Elaya Street, Patel Nagar Fourth Street and Lazarus Church Salai, modern gymnasiums at Triplicane and MR Nagar, cricket net practice centre at Greams Road, badminton court at MR Nagar and open auditoriums for students at three city schools.Besides the Municipal Administration Minister KP Munusamy, Chief Secretary Debendranath Sarangi, Municipal Administration and Water Supply (MAWS) Secretary S Karuthiah Pandian and Commissioner of Chennai Corporation D Karthikeyan attended the inaugural ceremony.
