Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Thursday filed a fresh complaint against former Deputy Chief Minister MK Stalin and DMK party organ Murasoli printer, publisher and editor S Selvam, to punish them for offences under sections 500 and 501 of the IPC.
Originally, the Chief Minister had filed a complaint against Stalin and English daily Times of India for the former’s utterances with regard to her stay in Kodanad in the Nilgiris district and the newspaper for publishing the statement.
According to the present complaint, filed through City Public Prosecutor ML Jagan, Murasoli in its issue dated August 9 last, had carried the statement of Stalin which among other things wondered as to whether, as an elected representative, he was not entitled to question her stay at Kodanad and that he would meet the case in the court.
The news item was not in good faith and there was absolutely no justification for the publication of the same in the newspaper, the City Public Prosecutor contended.
